Do the mountains know that the clouds are in love with them?
When the tall evergreen trees on the slanting hill grounds are surrounded with misty fog detatched from the bigger ship of soft white cotton candy, it feels as if I am floating away to the foreign lands of angels. The humble journey of the soul to meet peace in its surroundings. Unfortunately, the journey doesn't last long when the high mountainous altitude added with the curvy roads bring the waves from the beaches far away inside my stomach.
You know what, let's skip over the waves part.
Anyway, the roads in the hills are something. Being used to looking at the range from windows of your house, roads seems to be an illusion. The hills appear as chunks of green with nothing but flora covering every inch of them. From the far, you can't appreciate the real magic of these lands. As a person born and being raised below these mountains, there comes an hour where you have to give up on the inquisitive awe they behold. It's impossible to love forever.
It is such unprecedented times that brought that love back to me. When I look back now to my more younger days - only vague memories flash around. Memories of happiness. Some sad ones too, but comparatively they carry much less significance to me. They do have my attention, just not as much. Facts like the prior make me muse upon the things I do now. Will I remember these days 5 years from now on? Will I forget and keep making more of such forgettable memories? Is all this hardwork and effort I put in to keep myself happy and sane - feelings that should be natural - worth it? Speculations of mental state are endless and not as simple to move on from. It's like the place which we adore and admire so much that we can't get enough of it. Once you start thinking about it, you can't stop.
What I astoundingly discovered reflecting upon this matter was the serendipitous effect of Mother Earth. Even after all the things we put her through, she's still here. I'm not sure if she wants to be here or not - but she's here.
When you breathe in the refreshing local ecosystem created in the mountains, you know you're at peace. You feel it. The sensation of the cool wind filtering away raises goosebumps on your skin. When you blink away to clear your vision, the invigorating world of the massif invites you to ease. When you stop and don't fight to escape the sailing swing, you've found serenity.
